Pour beverage as hot as you possibly can and start out with carafe being 90-95% full. As the beverage level drops, the heat dissipates to the upper stainless steel walls of the carafe not covered by the beverage. Hence at only 25% full, coffee will not stay piping-hot for much longer unless the carafe is refilled. This is due to physics and is common with all thermal carafes or airpots. Use a long handle cleaning brush to clean and rinse the carafe thoroughly with dishwashing liquid and water periodically and before first use. Always place the carafe in a horizontal and upright position. Avoid careless handling, tilting or dropping, as damage and leakage may occur. Do not put in a dish-washer or submerge it in the sink as this would damage the insulation. Not suitable for carbonated beverages.
