"This Island you see is more than a place it's an act of imagination a story a song deep yearning expressed in a work of ongoing creation" --David Weale This stunning vintage teapot was made by Malcolm Stanley in his Stanley Studios pottery shop in Prince Edward Island in 1977. It is one of his earliest works and is a RARE collector's item. Malcolm Stanley apprenticed in the early 1970s in the Norman-Crimmins partnership studio in Keswick-Ridge New Brunswick. Moving to PEI in the early 1970's Malcolm established his own shop and studio, Stanley Studios. Malcolm's son Michael has joined the business, himself an accomplished Island potter. As this piece shows, Malcolm's early work used "Stanley - PEI" as well as the year, as his potter's mark. The measurements for this teapot are as follows: 9 1/4" high to the top of the handle 7" long to the tip of the spout 5 1/4" in diameter It is in excellent condition. The glaze inside and out shows not crackling. There are no cracks or visible chips. This item is a RARE one-of-a-kind beauty.
