Item 7413 Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this absolutely fetching 6 Gallon Stoneware Crock from the Midwest with Floral Bouquet. Circa 1870 and likely from Ohio, this crock was decorated by a very fine artist. I have seen a few other pieces by this hand and they all remind me of decorations from the Burger Pottery or Rochester, N.Y. I suspect that this artist was from there or trained with someone from that pottery. This beauty features a Rounded Rim, Tooled Shoulder, Gray Salt Glaze, and a Finely Executed Bouquet of Flowers. The bouquet features a bulb and five striped leaves at the base which support a daffodil, daisy, and two lily of the valley in full bloom. Lots of fine detail. Measures 14" tall and 12" wide across the top. Very Good Condition. A chip and 5" hairline in front of the right handle, and a couple 1/2" chips at the base. No inner rim chips, stains, or restoration. Ships double-boxed, insured, and FREE
