As for the palette, in Mexico City, there’s so much color there, and it’s used in such a nuanced, brilliant, and exuberant way. “I mean I love color,” K’era says, “and I tried to remember the things that really stuck out for me.” The Raya lumbar cushion has a horizon-like design, with melting sunset brights into an azure sea. It’s offset by a cream ground with a black-and-cream stripe border on the top and bottom.The MaterialNew Zealand wool is a premium wool beloved for its softness and long fibers. Like all wools, it has a hydrophobic layer which repels dust and dirt, as well as lanolin, which provides its trademark luster and protects the fiber from breaking or shedding. In these cushions, it’s handwoven onto a 100% cotton foundation for durability.The MakerOur partner is a small, family-run operation devoted to maintaining the integrity of the yarn they use. Wherever possible they prioritize the use of organic materials, and are committed to a high level of quality and craftsmanship.The DesignerK’era Morgan is a Los Angeles-based mixed media painter who graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a BFA in textile design. Her work is a reflection of her mood, with color and brushstrokes and mark-making heavily representing the essence of a feeling, emotion or thought in the exact moment. Her brand, k-apostrophe, as well as her collage paintings, can be found in independent boutiques, private residences and art collections around the world.
