There is nothing out there like theseone of a kind. ****** I like to give credit to a customer that needed something special for her kiln No need for the long version. .something similar to Raku Tongs. So after some special touches, these were created.***** This Short Heavy Duty Fire Tong is meant to help with those "large fires" which is needed on those cold nights. It's shorter than our other Heavy Duty onea little easier to handle. This hand-made Tong is made out of 1/2" x 1/2" square steel and 1/2" x 1/4" rectangle steel. It has a wrap handle, making it easier to hold and with more stability. It measures about 34" long and weighs about 5lbs. The rounded end measures 6" dia closed and opens up past 28", so they are truely "Heavy Duty". It's coated with a high temp paint giving it the ability to withstand those large, hot fires. Everything is made in my blacksmith shop here in Missouri. ***Variations: Offset the "prongs" at the end of the tongs for handling different types of pottery.
