I am here to tell you that not every can comes with a pop top lid! Super handy, in working order and in good condition, this electric can opener is from Dormeyer Corp. Dormeyer made small kitchen appliances from the 20's to the late 60's. Folks, if you're looking for "like new" vintage, this is not it. This was used so it has a small bit of paint loss, some wear to the metal bits, a small area of discoloration at the lower right corner and other age appropriate wear. Minor, in my opinion but be sure to look at the photos and judge for yourself. They are considered part of the description. The upper half of the front is metal - that's where there's a little paint loss. The rest of the housing is plastic and it has no chips or cracks. This stands 8 1/2" tall and is 4 1/8" x 3 1/4" at the base. The cord is in very good condition, flexible with no breakage. It has a non-polarized plug. There is an open area in the back where you can store the cord when this isn't in use. To use it, simply raise the silver lever, insert the can and as you lower the lever, the cutting blade lowers as well. It did take me a couple tries to get the can properly inserted but once I had the knack of it, it was good to go! Practical, useful with enough vintage style to have it out on your kitchen counter.
